Annual report 2024
The first year: potential and lessons
Our first season in league cricket. The team had what it takes for the Bundesliga, but we lacked experience.
ResultPromotion narrowly missed
The season
As a young club we started league cricket for the first time in 2024. It soon became clear that we could do more than a newcomer is expected to: we could have reached the Bundesliga in our very first year.
In the end it was not enough, and the reason was not talent but experience. In close games and under pressure we lacked the routine and the habits that other clubs have built over years. That lesson carried us through the following year.
Highlights
- The club’s first season in league cricket
- Playing at Bundesliga level from the very first year
- Promotion was missed narrowly, not for lack of quality but for lack of experience
What we took from 2024
Learning to handle pressure
The close games showed what to work on: staying calm when every over counts.
Routines in the club
We settled training, selection and match days after the first experiences.
